In 2011 I participating in the Wake Island Leg of a NOAA RAMP cruise in collaboration with the Rohwer Lab @ SDSU and the NOAA Coral Reef Ecosystems Division aboard the Research Vessel Hi'ialakai led by Chief Scientist Dr. Jameson Gove. This trip was a classic example of the unpredictability of performing field work. Check out the expedition blog and my blog entry about microbes on coral reefs.
